Comments

After being short of players, the team fielded was slightly over-graded and we had to forfeit half a point, however as W.O.K were a man short this was offset and we won by the slimmest of margins. My own game was a tough defensive battle after my opponent sacrificed a piece for several pawns and got a strong initiative, making me walk on thin ice for 20+ moves,

The game was settled as a draw after I rode out much of the attack but ran out of pawns to queen.Phil C won quickly and in good style, and Jim Robertson won with a bit of luck from a drawn position which gave us the victory. Boards 2 & 3 looked like small marginal losses, and the win in this match makes us 2/3 with Medway at home the next fixture on Feb 11.
